Dear Ms. Bandstra,
As a resident of Carnegie Hill, I am writing in strong opposition to the proposed installation of a Link5G sidewalk cell tower adjacent to 1150 Madison Avenue, referenced as EBI Project #016689-PR.
The proposed tower's industrial design and materials would clash with the special character and visual aesthetics of historic Madison Avenue. The proposed 32-foot height of the tower combined with its prominent crowning shroud would pierce the midsection of this typical and historic Madison Avenue building with its tripartite configuration (appearing as three towers when viewed from across the avenue). The tower would be clearly visible from nearby historic districts, including Carnegie Hill Historic District, Park Avenue Historic District, and the Metropolitan Museum Historic District. Moreover, the proposed tower would be redundant. There is already an existing Link NYC kiosk directly across Madison Avenue that provides free Wi-Fi calling capabilities.
Sincerely,
